Fee Schedule For Motorcycle Driving School

Submission to the Alberta Motor Vehicle Legislation Board. This document outlines the proposed fee schedule and associated policies for our Motorcycle Driving School, submitted for review and approval by the Alberta Government under the Alberta Traffic Safety Act and its associated regulations.

(All fees are listed in Canadian Dollars. GST is applied at checkout unless otherwise stated.)

Program and Service Fees

Moto Instincts provides motorcycle training services in accordance with Alberta Licensed Driver Training School requirements. The following fees apply to training services offered by the school.

Payment Policies and Procedures

All training and rental fees are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST), which is added at checkout. Full payment is required prior to the start of training via card, debit, or bank transfer unless otherwise approved in writing. Official receipts are issued for all payments and retained for audit purposes.

2.1 Registration Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 CAD is required to secure a spot in any rider Course. The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days prior to the scheduled course start date or the booking and deposit will be forfeit.

2.2 Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Cancellations With More Than Seven (7) Days Notice: Students who cancel their course enrollment with more than Seven (7) calendar days’ notice prior to the start date will receive a full course refund cost, less the $100.00 non-refundable deposit.
  • Cancellations With Less Than Seven (7) Days’ Notice: Cancellations made with less than seven (7) calendar days’ notice are subject to a late cancellation fee, which includes the $100.00 non-refundable deposit and an administrative processing fee of up to $100.00. If the cancellation relates to a multi-day course or package, any unused training days or levels will be refunded, calculated at the standard daily or hourly training rate, less applicable deposits and administrative fees.
  • No-Show Policy: Students who fail to attend a scheduled course or training session without prior notice will forfeit all fees associated with the scheduled training day(s). Any unused future training days, if applicable, will remain refundable in accordance with this policy, less applicable fees.
  • School-Initiated Cancellations: Moto Instincts operates rain or shine whenever safely possible. In the event the school must cancel a training session due to unforeseen circumstances, including safety, mechanical, or instructor availability issues, the affected session will be rescheduled at no additional charge. Students will be notified as soon as reasonably possible, and updated schedules will be communicated by Moto Instincts.

 

2.3 Rescheduling Policy

Students may request one (1) reschedule without penalty, provided the request is submitted more than seven (7) calendar days prior to the original course start date. Additional rescheduling requests, or requests made with less than seven (7) days’ notice, will be subject to a $100.00 administrative fee. All rescheduled training must be completed within sixty (60) days of the original course date and is subject to availability.

Student Conduct and Minimum Skill Requirements

Students must hold a valid Alberta Class 5 or 7 driver’s licence to participate in Level 1 or 2 motorcycle training and be proficient in piloting a bicycle. In addition Level 1 will act as a pre-requisite for Level 2 Training to the discretion of Moto Instincts. Moto Instincts reserves the right to remove a student from training for unsafe behaviour, impairment, failure to follow instruction, or inability to demonstrate minimum safe riding ability. Removal from training for safety reasons does not automatically entitle the student to a refund.

Regulatory Notes

Moto Instincts does not administer government testing or issue government licences. No government forms or testing fees are included in tuition unless explicitly stated in writing. Any future changes to fees or policies will be communicated in writing to enrolled students and reported to Traffic Safety Services as required.

Fee Changes

All tuition and service fees are subject to change. Any changes affecting enrolled students will be communicated in writing or via digital correspondence prior to implementation.
